San Isidro is situated in the South of the Alicante region in the Vega Baja Segura area. It has 1,401 Inhabitants (survey 2006) On its borders there are the mountains of Albetera and the main Agricultural plains of Orihuela. The origin of San Isidro. It is linked with agriculture and was assisted by the National Institute of Colinization in the early 1950,s . In 1952 they began to convert the waste lands into fertile land , and indeed a lot land for building etc. Its neighbour Albetera was very supportive, but in 1993 it formed its own independent community. In 1995, a little time after its independence there were 1,185 Inhabitants. In the (2006 survey) it had increased to 1,401. It was granted full independence by The Government of Valencia.
