The cathedral of Orihuela. 


Orihuela is a municipality of Spain, long known for its monumental and artistic history. Its cultural heritage is of notable importance in the surrounding area, and indeed cultural interest.
The famous poet Miguel Hernandez was born and lived here for most of his life.
Situated in the south of the Vega Baja Del Segura region of Alicante, the capital of the area.
The city centre is 23 metres above sea level, and it has 77,979 Inhabitants (survey 2006)


The River Segura passes through the city. 


The climate is sub-tropical and Mediterranean with varios dry zones.
The average temperature for the year is 18.5ç . 16/18ç winter maximum and 5/10ç minimum. In Summer the temperatures can reach 35/ 40ç , in Springtime around 20/25ç. In conclusion a very temperate climate.
