Garden of the priest or curative garden. A natural park formed mainly with Palm Trees.


Elche is one of the major cities in the Alicante region . Situated in the Province of Valencia.
It lies on the banks of the river Vinalopo, and has around 219,000 Inhabitants (survey 2006)
Being the second largest city in the region, if it is grouped together with the largest, Alicante. The combined inhabitants number 725,000, this includes people from Santa Pola, and Crevillente, two of the smaller towns in the area.



Its dry and Mediterranean climate is ideal, and temperatures range from 12ç in February to 27ç in July, rising sometimes in high Summer to more than 35ç.
There little rainfall, less than 2mm a year.


Dame of Elche. 


The famous Dame of Elche was sculptured hear.
A sculpture of a brave, supposed, female priest, dressed in a ceremonial suit.
Its considered, one of the most important Iberian Artworks.
The City was destroyed by troops from Cartegena, but when the Romans arrived, a process of forming a colony began probably at the turn of the Century 26AD.



The origins of Elche date back to the year 5,000AD. The Neolithic era.
When Founded The Iberian City was called Helike.
