The Town of Torrevieja is situated in the Southern part of the Valencian comunity in the Vega Baja Del Segura region , on the Mediterranean coast. With 90,034 Inhabitants (survey 2006) It’s the third most populated town in the province after Alicante and Elche.

It has 20 Klms of coastline, including the beaches of Los Locos, El Cura , La Acequion, and Los Naufragos. The Temperatures here vary between 15/25ç depending on the season, Sometimes higher in the Summer Months. The border to the north of Torrevieja is Guardamar with Orihuela to the South. On the internal borders are, Los Montesinos, Rojales , and San Miguel de las Salinas.

The Town has a long Fishing Heritage and the extraction of salt from the Inland Lakes. Nowdays the Economy is dedicated to Tourism and Residential property sales. In the high season it attracts some 700,000 Visitors. It is very popular with tourists from England,Germany, and Finland among others, by the pleasant climate and warm Temperatures. Many Spanish people enjoy Torrevieja also, each year they travel from Madrid,Euskadi, and Castillo de Leon. Some even have second homes in the Town, and they enjoy the Street Carnivals and events during the Summer.
